Parting Stone solidified cremated remains now available

CSNH now offers a solid alternative to loose cremated remains called solidified remains. Our families who receive cremated remains of a loved one choose this option because solidified remains form a stone that can be held easily and shared with family. To do this, we’ve partnered with Parting Stone.

The solidification process compresses cremated remains into an attractive collection of 40-60 cremation stone rocks that you can share, scatter and take on travel. Solidified remains that you can hold in the form of a rock may help with the grieving process or closure of a loved one’s death.

The stones help families grieve by providing a stone that can be touched and held. The appearance of each collection of solidified remains is 100% natural. Solidified remains may have different hues and textures, making each set unique. Parting Stones range in size from thumbnail up to palm size.

“It is a profound opportunity to live with the remains of our loved ones, but conventional cremated remains make that experience uncomfortable,” said Parting Stone founder and CEO Justin Crowe. “We developed an alternative to conventional cremated remains to help families feel a meaningful connection with their departed. When you choose cremation you no longer have to take home ashes.”

Following the death of his grandfather, Justin realized that living with conventional cremated remains can feel uncomfortable, so in many households they often end up hidden in a closet for decades. Parting Stone worked with material scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory to develop solidified remains to empower families in their grief with a form of remains that can be touched and held.

We understand this may be a new concept for you, so here are some videos from Parting Stone explaining the process, and families sharing their stories.

Our arrangers are also available to discuss Parting Stone with you to see if it’s the right choice for you and your family.
